Rally Squirrel

If you follow Cardinal baseball you know what the rally squirrel is all about. This cute little squirrel ran across the field during the wildcard playoffs helping to lift our bats {and spirits} to victory over the Phillies.Now it has gone rabid in St. Louis {sorry for the pun} showing up on t-shirts, towels and I believe  it's own web page. It's just something that gives us Cardinal fans a little more hope in our team winning the NLCS and advancing to the World Series. It got me thinking about other silly superstitions and rituals that give us fans of any sports hope. When I was younger and still living in St. Louis, I had a certain hat I had to wear to Busch Stadium to catch a game. To me, that hat insured a Cardinal victory every time I went. And most of the time it did. Having a little hope goes a long way.  Tomorrow is the district championship game for Danny and the Burke football team. It means so much to these Seniors. So... I will be eating take-out before the game, wearing the same Burke shirt I have worn to all the games and sitting on the 50 yard line like always. Will it make a difference in the game, probably not. But it gives me hope, hope that they will be 8-0 and district champs.

A highlight reel...

Hey, I know it is supposed to be a picture, but today while surfing the web I came across my son's sack on Sept 30th.  Hudl is a video program that the high schools here use for their film. One of the coaches pulled Danny's sack from the film and posted it.  It is pretty cool.  Danny is at the top of the line on the defense side.  At first he thought he was going to pass and jumped up to try and deflect it, then he made a spin move and then down when the QB.  He was so excited and animated after.  Pretty neat.

A Puzzler

Cute ghost pins I made from old puzzles.  The ghosts and some candy are Halloween surprises for  my friends and co-workers. After all, no one is really to old for Halloween!

Hard Hitting

I wanted to share this picture from my son's football game Friday night.  Talk about a hard hit!  It knocked Daniel's helmet clear off his head!  No injury occurred and the Bulldogs won 33-7!!!

I also want to take the opportunity to thank Smug Mug Photos and Mr. Kleckner for the fabulous job he does taking these pictures.  I am keeping them in business.  :)

A little family fun

Love the determination on Emily's face as she faced her brother in our air hockey showdown at Sempeck's in Elkhorn.  As it turns out girls rule and boys drool as she beats her brother 7-4!!  Way to go Emily!!

Another football post

So for the months of August through October; and if we are lucky November, life revolves around football. Our Friday night consists of rushing home from work, changing into Burke gear, getting take out and heading to the game. We had family visiting and brought them into the fold of our crazy Friday nights.  My picture isn't that great, or special but it's part of my Friday ritual.  I take a photo of the score board, win or lose. Tonight the Bulldogs traveled across town to face the Thunderbirds.  The game started off slow and was 10-7 at the half. Both sides played great defense but Dawgs pulled away in the 3th quarter and finished nicely with the big win.  Yay Bulldogs!!

Oct 6th entry a little late... oops

I tend to get a little crazy when family comes to visit.  I turn into a women possessed by cleaning the house like mad. And, it's not regular cleaning either. Nope, the usual dusting and vacuuming doesn't cut it. It has to be all out, over the top cleaning.  Like the carpets.  With two days to spare.  I went out and bought the little beauty below, and passive aggressively left a to-do list on the counter hoping my hubby would see it. I'd like to think my strategy worked, but he knows how crazy I tend to be and he was pitching in and trying to ease my neuroses.   {Love my hubby!!}  Now all this cleaning really needed to be done, just not two days before relatives visit.  I know that.  I mean, after all they are coming to see us not our house.  Maybe I learned my lesson.  You know my sister is coming up in two weeks. Carpets are clean, cobwebs and dust gone.  Should be a relaxing two weeks, however... the upstairs bathroom could use some new paint.  :)

Do me a favor...

If you are reading my posts, and I can see that some people are....could you comment on them? I mostly do this for myself, but if you are reading them and not scrolling past them, I would really like to know what you think.  Thanks!!

Yes sir, yes sir... 5 bags full!

As you may know, I work in an Early Childhood Special Ed classroom as a para. We have two classes, our morning group which is made up of 3 & 4 year olds and the afternoon group that is our 4 & 5 year olds.  We cover many things in our room and one of them is potty training with our morning group. Some days it runs smoothly and well... some days it is a diaper changing extravaganza.  Like today. And on days like today when its full of dodo (a five bagger!!) you have to treat yourself to coffee or lunch.  As you can see, I treated myself to lunch.

Ouch! How did that happen?

Okay so this isn't my picture, but I didn't have my camera on me at work.  But I was stung by a bee! I still don't know how it happened.  I was standing on the playgroup with my class, talking to one of the little boys. I moved my left hand, closing it as I brought it up to my face, when I felt this sting.  Apparently the bee was flying by my hand as I was closing it and I shut my hand on him.  Ouch!  Glad to find out I am not allergic to bees.  :)

Loeffelman with the Sack

This was from last Friday night.  Late in the 3rd quarter, Danny was playing DE, got around his man after a spin move and sacked the QB!!!  I must say, I never get tired of hearing is name announced.  The Bulldogs are now 6-0!!  Go Dawgs!!

Heading to Jazzercise

Trying to get back in the Jazzercise routine.  With the football season in full swing, and lots of evening engagements with our Monday Nite Mom's group, my workouts suffer a little during football season.

Which sweats should I wear?

An enjoyable friday night...

That's right it's another Friday Night Fever for my family.  Danny has been doing pretty well this season and thanks to Jeff Kleckner I have the pictures to prove it.  {It looks so much better to have the pictures taken from field level and by a professional!}

Danny is in the middle, next to the center.  He is getting ready to make a hole for our RB to squeeze through and score.  We win a close one, 42-35!

Got a lot of ground to make up

Wow! I can't believe I have neglected my blog for this long.  Guess I have some making up to do. Life has been busy since my last post.... car troubles topping the list, followed by getting the flu and then catching up with the things I missed when sick.  Here's what would have been my next picture...

Received my September order from Stampin Up!  Always exciting.  Now to find the time to sit and play with my new toys.

The promised picture

I know... it took a while, but I finally acquired that  goofy picture of my son with his friends on homecoming.   {To be a teen again...}

17 September, 2011

56 is just too cold for September

It was a sweatpants, long sleeved t-shirt kinda of day here.  If I would have charged the battery in my camera, I would have showed you.  It really was a yucky day.  Cloudy, rainy and cool...well almost cold, late fall day.  Except fall hasn't started yet!!  I hope this doesn't mean an early winter with a ton of snow.  But then again, it is Nebraska.  :)

Gimme a D

This would have been on our front door for Danny, but apparently the cheerleaders couldn't find our house using their GPS.  I am sure there is a dumb blond joke in there somewhere, but...  It's the thought that counts.  Go Daniel!

13 September, 2011

Not to be forgotten...

Here is Danny's pic from homecoming.   I still don't have the funny one yet;  one of the mom's is supposed to send it to me.  {Hopefully soon!}  My handsome boy is the one in the pewter shirt.

11 September, 2011

And so it begins....

It's homecoming weekend here for us in the big O.  Danny's last and Emily's first.  It was hard to choose where I was going to be to take pictures, since they were happening at the same time. I decided on Emily, since this is her first.  I am lucky to have some very kind friends who are willing to share pictures of Danny with me. {Hopefully I will have those soon and I will post one} I keep looking at this picture and can't really believe this is my little girl.  She is beautiful! {But I am bias!}  And so it begins... I wasn't worried about how the world was going to treat her, and by world I mean boys, but after taking this picture I may have to step up my game plan.  :)

Another new crafting tool

I went to Archivers and made this little card and tested a new tool called Sew Easy.  See the stitching on the bottom of the card, that's what the sew easy does.  It has different heads that let you add different designs.  This one was scalloped. It punches the holes in the card stock for you and then all you have to do is pick your favorite floss and sew away.  So much easier than the placement guide stamp that I currently use.  I was hooked.  I bought a zig zag design and one that makes hearts.  I am hoping this weekend to have a chance to try them out and share them with you. {If any one is reading my blog... please comment if you are-- thanks}

Hello Fall

Welcome fall!!  So glad you are visiting us here in Nebraska.  Put up all of my decorations yesterday and lit my fall candles.  It smelled so good in our house, like pumpkin pie.  Ahhhh.  Hopefully these wonderful cooler temperatures stick around... I am ready to say goodbye to summer!

Memorial Day Fun

Good old fashion barbecue.  That's what we had today.  Brats, burgers, beans and potato salad.  YUM! Spending time with the family is always nice.  The teens in residence actually got along... there was no fighting or feelings being hurt.  They even played games together in peace.

Sunday night = game night

We are a game playing family and tonight is game night for us.  Here's what we have in store for us this evening.  Can anyone give me a good word starting with X?  I want to win!  :)

Late post for Sept 2 &3rd

It was  a wild football weekend here, especially for high school football.  All of the games on Friday night were suspended in various stages of play due to severe weather.  It was so crazy!!  This was Burke's home opener and we were out for revenge.  See played the #1 team in state, who just happen to be our most hated rival.  Why you ask?... Well we lost to them twice last year, once during regular season play and then a heartbreaking loss in the semifinals 10-7. At home no less.  And the rival went on to win state! See... we were out for revenge.  Burke boys looked great and we took a 28-12 lead into halftime.  That's when the storms rolled in.  After an 80 minute delay, the game was postponed until Saturday.  We went back to Burke stadium and cheered our boys to victory over the Mustangs 49-34!!  The Mustangs student section had a sign with them saying "remember 10-7".  Our scoreboard says it all...

Happy Bday to me!

I started today excited to see how my 43rd year on earth would begin.  Maybe a chance to sleep in an extra 15 minutes? Or the kids making me breakfast in bed? Or perhaps someone else to take charge of feeding our dog?  Sadly none of the above happened.  I awoke to my son's alarm beeping like crazy because apparently he sleeps like a rock.  After, gently {yeah right} reminding him that his alarm was still on, I tried to lay back down.  After 5 minutes, our dog decides she has had enough and is starving that I get a cold nose in my ear.  So grumbling I get up to feed her and let her out.  Pass daughter on the stairs and she wishes me a happy birthday and then "the rock" reminds me he needs lunch money as of yesterday. Sigh!!!  It's all quiet after they leave and I get ready for work.  Head on out to my car, get in and NOTHING!  Wouldn't start!  Give me a break!  But the day wasn't a total loss.  It did get better.  I received a lot of nice gifts and a brand new car battery.  :)  Should have taken a picture of that, but thought the new shirts were prettier.  :)

27 August, 2011

Look at what I found in our paper's online version...

That's my boy making the tackle; love the determination on his face! This was the Bulldogs first game of the season versus Omaha Central @ Central.   It was a tough, hard fought game, but the Bulldogs came out on top 14-7.  Yay Bulldogs!!  I am so tickled with this picture, I don't even mind that our last name is misspelled.  :)

Lazy Sunday

The title says it all... lazy.  That word comes up a lot in my life doesn't it.  I mean, I am not lazy all the time... I know what work needs to be done and get to it.  But it is so nice to have a day {or days in my case sometimes} to just be.  I love it when I have nothing pressing to do, other than cooking dinner. I spent most of today, before dinner, catching up on my reading, soaking in the tub and watching mindless television.  Oh yeah, and not taking a picture of anything.  {Guess I'm way off on my one photo at a time goal.}  Oh well!  Must get back to being lazy. Off to pop in a movie from Netflix.  {yes, I still subscribe to Netflix} Hope you all are having a lazy Sunday of your own.

Senior photo shoot

I have opted to take Danny's senior pictures this year due to cost and his lack of enthusiasm for getting his picture taken.  Why spend all that money when he doesn't really want to do it.  Plus, have you seen what they charge for Senior portraits?!  It's crazy.  Sitting fees plus the cost of photos.  The cheapest package we found was $750.  I have a camera and I know how to use it.  Here is one picture from our first photo shoot.  He plays football and we live in Nebraska, so I thought it would be funny to take his picture coming out of a cornfield.  Being home to the Huskers, it just seemed right. I wanted a good serious, football stare. I think I got it, don't you?

15 August, 2011

No first day nerves here.

It was the first day of school today for myself and Emily. {Danny starts his senior year tomorrow} I wasn't concerned for myself, since our little kiddos don't start till Thursday, but I was a little nervous for Emily.  I mean, that is my baby and today was her first day of high school.  That's right, she's a freshman or fresh meat as Danny says.  The one nice thing about today is that our school district gives freshman a head start, so to speak. It was a freshman only day. Basically, they have the school to themselves to find their way and get the feel for the layout of the school.  Piece of cake! As you can see, she wasn't nervous at all.  Now tomorrow will be another story when the whole student body will be there... and Danny drives her.
But for now, she likes high school.  {Still can't believe she is a freshman!}

Come here cupcake

I have been craving something very chocolately. Spent one whole day searching the internet for something that would fit the bill.  Cupcakes sounded good, filled cupcakes sounded even better and cupcakes covered in ganache put me over the edge!  I combined a few recipes and came up with my own version of "hostess cupcakes"  That is the chocolately treat I have been craving.  The ones in the front look pretty good, almost just like the real thing.  Let me tell you they were very tasty.  The only complaint is that I didn't fill them with enough cream.  Guess I have to make them again... darn.  {that's why I go to Jazzercise}

In a pickle

Look what I have turned my cucumber bounty into....

Sweet bread and butter pickles..... Yum!

A hot hike

Dan and I went on a two day get-a-way last week.  We decided to not go far because I was worried about leaving the kids alone... they are 17 & 14 and who knows what shenanigans they can get themselves into.  {I am a huge worrier}  We love to spend time outdoors so we decided to stay 45 minutes away, close to a few state parks AND close enough to quickly be home if we were needed.  We left early Monday morning and hit the trails. Living in the heartland, our terrain isn't what we love to hike in, like say Colorado or southern Missouri but we did find nice scenic trails along the Platte River. The picture below is on a trail that followed a stream and had a little waterfall just behind us. What you don't see in the picture is the temperature. Neither of us really paid too much attention to the weather forecast and figured it wouldn't be so bad.  WRONG!!  I mean really, it's summer and we are pretty used to the upper 90's. When we made it back to our hotel, the weather channel informed us that, with the heat index, it was 115 outside.  115!!  We are so lucky we didn't have heat stroke.  Needless to say we hung out at the hotel for the rest of the day.

Danny's new ride

While the girls were away shopping in Chicago, the boys did their own shopping and found a car for Danny.  It's a great used car and has a few dings, dents and rust spots (all on the side you can't see). He doesn't care... it's a car and it runs.  :)

07 August, 2011

Finally back in the groove!

So I went on a little hiatus to Chicago with the girls for a week and then left for a nice little getaway with my husband.  I am back, rested and ready to enjoy my last week of freedom before school begins. {still hoping for that lotto win} I promised to share some photos of my trip(s) so today I will begin with one from Chicago.

Emily's first trip with us girls to Chicago was a hit.  She loved it.... a true diva in training! So far her favorite stores are: Bloomingdale's, Coach and Juicy Couture.  I think I have created a monster.  :)

26 July, 2011

And we are off...

see you all in a week.  I will try and take some fablous pictures of Chicago.... and Emily's excitement by all the "Brown Bags"!  :)  {I.Love.Bloomingdale's!  Can't afford it but LOVE it!}

Vaca Awaits!

Wow, I can't believe my last post was the 20th.  Anyway, I won't be posting for a while... going on the yearly girls trip to Chicago.  Can't wait for tomorrow!  See you in a week with some awesome pictures.

A tanning plateau

Is it possible to lose tanning ability with age?  When I was younger, teenage years through my 20's, I had no problem baking in the sun. I would lay out for hours and come in with a nice bronze hue.  Occasionally, a few "red" tans would appear {yes I see a dermatologist},  but they would always turn bronze in a day or two. And I would tan evenly. Arms and legs at the same time. But now, this is how I tan:

 Give me a break! I can't tell if that's my leg or the carpeting.  :)

Stitches are out... Nugget is free.

Took Nugget to the vet today for one last visit.  Her stitches were removed and she is a free dog.  The first thing she did was promptly lick her leg where the stitches were.  It reminded me of someone getting their cast off and scratching their arm with relief.  To celebrate... she wanted to play fetch... in 100 degree heat.  So we threw the ball twice.  This was the best shot.

15 July, 2011

Payday... and now it's gone!

I always love payday... I mean who doesn't.  But it is also bittersweet.  In the morning, you check the bank balance and become all happy, seeing that nice sum appear. You adjust your register and head out for your weekly errands.  After dinner and dessert {I mean it is payday after all} you come home full and content.  Then you remember you have to pay your bills.  You pull out your bill folder, log into your bank's website, and if you are like me, your online budget tracker and click away.  Click after click your bills are being paid and that lovely sum of money that was there in the morning is looking more like the bottom of the chip bag... almost empty.  Ahh, payday... can't wait for your return.

(yes this is a repeat picture but paying the bills really doesn't look any different this time around. ;)

Happiness is...

spending the morning hours with your hubby at your favorite store.  That's right ladies, my husband spent the morning with me shopping at Archiver's.  I know some of my friend's husbands wouldn't be caught dead hanging out in a craft store, but not Dan.  He knows how much I love to craft and scrapbook and went in with an open mind and didn't even bat an eye at the total at checkout.  Thank you honey!  Of course I had to treat him to lunch, but that's a small price to pay for my new loot.  :)

Christmas in July

It is so hot here in Nebraska that I decided to do a little winter dreaming and get a head start on my Christmas cards.  I bought a grab bag from SU! and in it is was a simply card kit for Christmas.  {Lucky me!} 6 cards down, 44 to go.  :)

Will not scan

I really love technology when it's working.  However, when something goes wrong, it really puts a damper on my love for it.  Take my all in one printer,  {please?!} it has been scanning, printing and doing everything I ask of it since we purchased it 2 years ago.  Until today. What do you mean, can't scan because it doesn't have usb connection? Umm, the cord is right there, I see it connected to the printer and the computer, as it has been for said 2 years. Tried my own troubleshooting of unplugging it, reattaching the cords, restarting the computer and printer; still no luck. Went to online troubleshooting.  Followed all 4 steps as outlined. Still no luck. {getting ready to throw printer out window}   Before exiting page, saw a little tiny box, with very small print on the bottom of page saying if you installed the new mac OS the scan driver isn't supported anymore and you have to use the OS system its self to work around it.  Forgive me.... but... SHOULDN'T THAT BE THE FIRST THING IT SHOWS YOU?! So after an hour of messing with it, I finally have it working.  On to uploading my picture for today... camera won't turn on, what's the deal, I just used it.  Dead battery.  GRR!

A Post-op Nugget

Our Nugget had a little surgery today to remove a large wart on her leg. {if you remember, she bit some if it off a few weeks ago} I am so amazed at how happy she looks and all the energy she has.  Must be the meds!  Also thankful, at least for now, that she doesn't need to wear the "cone of shame". Hopefully she will make it the next 10 days without it.

Still feel unbalanced

A day after the not guilty verdict was handed down for Casey Anthony, life still feels unbalanced.  The jury of her peers found that they had reasonable doubt that she didn't kill her 2 year old daughter because there was no DNA proof.  Sometimes there isn't DNA proof, sometimes you have to look past that and examine the whole case.  She was a liar, a party girl and someone who needed to be in the spotlight, but wasn't anymore because of her daughter. The big smoking gun for me was that fact that she, Casey, waited 31 days to tell anyone that Caylee was missing.  31 days.  How could a mom do that? Heck my kids are 5 minutes late on curfew and I am thinking something happened.  God's justice will prevail, has too.

Happy 4th of July!!

My fireworks setting on my camera kinds works I guess.  Either way... Happy 4th of July!! Hope all are having a wonderful day full of good bar-b-que, tasty spirits and lots of fireworks!!

3 more days and...

Summer school will be over! I can't wait.  This was my first experience working summer school and sadly, it will be my last.  I truly don't like it.  Here we are, busting our butts with our kids during the year, really working with them and helping them learn. Thinking along the way, that the other classrooms within our program are run the same way. {they are supposed to be} Only to see first hand, through these summer school kids, that they are not.  What are these other teachers teaching them?  Why are they still teaching? I do understand that some if it is their home environment, but basic classroom rules like sitting in circle time, washing your hands before eating and after using the bathroom, or even walking in a line.  Honestly!  This is what I needed tonight {and is on my Chicago trip list) Love. Grand Lux!

Swimsuit dismay

I went shopping with my 14 year old tonight, in hopes of finding a swimming suit.  Do you know how hard it is to find an appropriate suit for her age.  Should a 14 year old really be showing off that much skin? I don't think so! But as she reminded me in the store... I am old.  We compromised, found a tankini that mostly covers her, the bottoms are tie at the side, but we board short cover ups it's a win-win for all involved.  I need a drink!

25 June, 2011

Re-organization

So a few weeks back, possibly a month ago I cleaned out my closet to gather items for Goodwill and came up with a little more than 4 bags of goodies for them. {I haven't brought them the bags yet, but it is on my to-do list} I don't know why I didn't do that at the time but today I completely emptied my closet and organized all my clothing. Whew!  Hopefully I can keep it this way.

A little hard work never hurt anyone

Before I start...  today is my 100th post!  Hip-hip Hooray!  Anyway, this pic is pretty self explanatory. Our lovely daughter wants to earn some cash and she isn't old enough to obtain employment at the mall, grocery store and etc, so we told her she could do extra chores around the house for money.  I wonder if she is regretting this choice.  A little hard work never hurt anyone.

No cone for Nugget

Our dog Nugget has a few warts {did you know dog's get warts?} and up until now she has left them alone.  After playing outside she decided to gnaw at her leg until she bit it open. After that she ate whatever she tore off {eew!} and tried to lick the carpet clean where she was bleeding. {so thoughtful} So I took her outside, got the bleeding to stop and attempted to bandage her leg because I didn't want to take her to the emergency vet at 11 pm.  Seemed to work and she left it alone.  Well, morning arrived and after her breakfast, breakfast treat and morning doody, tore off the bandage and reopened the wound to the point I couldn't get it to stop bleeding. Luckily our vet opened at 7 and I was able to drop her off to be tended to while I went to work.  No stitches were needed and they didn't remove the wart {well, what was left of it} like I was hoping.  Instead they bandaged her up and want it to heal on its own. We have to go back in 5 days to see if it worked.  I thought for sure she would need at cone around her head to not bother the bandage, but she is leaving it alone.  Guess you need to have the vet's touch.

Welcome to the digi world

Well, I swore up and down that I would never try digital scrapbooking. Ever! But then I received a coupon from the checkout at my local Target for a free... that's right FREE photo book.  And I mean, who can turn down free! So I took the plunge today and created my first digital book.  It was really simple and a little fun too.  I can see why some people love it.  It's quick, and no bulky tools, adhesives or inks involved. However... I love my bulky tools, adhesives and inks. Not to mention paper, stickers and bling.  You haven't won me over completely digi scrapbooking.  And if another free book happens to fall into my lap, I won't be so quick to turn my nose up at it.  {Will share a pic of it when it arrives)

Happy Father's Day!

Within the past few years, Father's Day has taken on a dual meaning for me.... celebration and remembrance.  I celebrate the wonderful father my husband is to our two beautiful children.  He teaches our kids by example to work hard, be loving, kind and generous.  He teaches our kids by hands on experience to have fun and enjoy life.  We are so lucky to have him in our lives.  As I celebrate this, I am also remembering my own amazing father; who not unlike Dan, raised his children in the exact same way.  He taught us through example that hard work pays off, love is unconditional and that faith is what is needed when times get tough. {and duck tape and WD-40 is fit for almost any fix-it situation} In his later years he showed us that life is a gift and time is fleeting.  It's hard to let a love one go...   It will be 3 years on Tuesday that my Dad was relieved of all his suffering that Alzheimer's caused.  I miss you Dad! And I love you Dan! Happy Father's Day!

Sports physical time

I am sitting here at home relaxing. Enjoying the quiet time while my lovely hubby had his turn at taking our 17 year old for his yearly doctor/sports physical visit.  I figured it would be a nice bonding time for the men to go together.  Emily and I have our turn in July for her visit.

Trying to get back on that blog horse

I really have no excuse for the lack of entries.  No one is injured, computer and camera are both working and my life is far from dull.  {I am very grateful for all of that!} The only excuse that comes to mind is... I am lazy!  June has been a pretty busy month, a family get together for my great nephew's baptism and working during the week.  {Do you know how hard it is to work summer school when you usually are smart enough to say no? } So here is my attempt at getting back on the horse.

If life seems upside down....

...make Pineapple Upside Down Cake.  It looked so good. If it only tasted as good as it looked. For some reason it wasn't done in the middle... at all.  I baked it longer than what the recipe called far and tested it before taking it out of the oven.  Still, only the edges were done.  Tried the edges... yuck!  Don't think I will try it again.

Love Kohl's

Not only did I find great deals on clothes for my soon to be 1 year old great nephew, but I also found this sign at a great price.  Love. Kohl's.

Having trouble uploading a pics. Will share it when I can.

The most hated household chore...

Most Sundays are a relaxing day for many. Some start their morning attending church services or going to brunch with friends. Since we attend Saturday night services, we like to sleep in on Sunday mornings then curl up on the couch to read the paper or a good book.  However...  this is how I started my Sunday morning...cleaning the toilet.  Which then lead to really scrubbing the shower down; then to mopping the floor.  On Sunday!!  Oh well, at least I am starting the week off squeaky clean.

My silly girl

It's nice to know my 14yr still has a sense of humor and isn't totally consumed by those horrible teenage hormones.  {just don't tell her I posted this pic on my blog}

Faces in the wild

Call me crazy but doesn't this look like a face? Maybe some long forgotten Easter Island wanna be? Use your imagination... maybe WC Fields?  :)
