Graduation!!

Last night was this boy's high school graduation!!

My goodness, guess he isn't a boy anymore is he?!  We are so PROUD of him!!

The big moment!

Hat's off Bulldogs! You made it!

Ready for college life!

Look out UNL - Here comes trouble times 3!! Bro's through thick and thin!

I can't say enough how PROUD I am of Daniel and all that he has accomplished in his high school career and life. He has turned into a fine young man!
You have such a bright future a head of you Daniel!
I'm looking forward to all the good things coming your way!

New do...

Emily wanted a change. She has been wanting to change her hair style for a while now, and trying to find something that is just right.  She was putting it off until later in the summer, but I thought why wait. Daniel's graduation is this week and it would be great to start the summer off with a new do.  That way if, God forbid, it turned out badly she'd have the summer to grow it out.  She settled on Shailene Woodley style with a little bang.  Now Emily hasn't had bangs since 5th grade and I remember she didn't care for them then, so as any good mom would do, I tried to talk her out of it.  Didn't work.  So she went from this:

To this:

I think it looks great! Makes her look more her age. Now if she can just fix those bangs everyday.

A week in review...

Can you say whirlwind?  Life doesn't slow down at all.  This past week was so busy. Daniel had his very last day of high school on Monday. Would have been the previous Friday, but he had a pesky AP final to take on Monday. I was a little sad on that day; he was not.  He is so ready for graduation and to move on to the next phase of his life.  I am excited and sad at the same time. Next Wednesday is going to be so hard!!

Emily's last day of Freshman year was on Thursday.  Hard to believe that she has grown up so fast before our eyes and will be a full fledged driver in October when she turns 16! She is looking forward to the freedom driving will give her.  Until all of her friends hound her to drive them somewhere since she is the oldest in her group.

My last day was Friday and I am so glad!!  This school year was tough and I am ready for the break and to come back refreshed for next years group.

Saturday was Daniel's 18th birthday!!  Hard to see the little boy pictured below with cake smeared all over his face on his first birthday, now 18 and nearly a man! WOW!!

One of my all time favorite movie quotes fits perfectly:  Taken from Ferris Bueller's Day Off:
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

Glad I took lots of pictures!  :)

Happy Mother's Day!

I have been so blessed with these two wonderful kiddos...

and yes, they drive me crazy, frustrate me to the point where I could just pull my hair out. But they are teens and that's their job or so I am lead to believe. But in spite of all that, they are growing into two amazingly talented young adults. I am so lucky to be their Mom!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy May Day!!

I love the beginning of a new month. In it I always see the potential of fun full of days just waiting for us.    This month is especially exciting and full of fun already.  Not only do we welcome the end of the school year and summer vacation, but our son turns 18 and is graduating from high school!!  That is still so hard to believe.  So what is in store for you and your families this month?

Here are a few pictures from what we did last weekend to finish off April:

I created a few gifts for our school secretaries:

had wonderful Greek food at a local cafe:

And helped my daughter make a yummy snack we saw on Pinterest:
(Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip!!  So good!!)

Hoping for happy May day's ahead!!
