What I love about spring break...

We were able to get out of the big O and head back home to St. Louis for a few fun filled days.  Do you think it's weird that I still refer to St. Louis as home after living in Omaha for nearly 14 years?  Guess you can take the girl out of St. Louis, but never take St. Louis out of the girl!  Here's what I loved over the past week:

My sisters' beautiful tulips in full bloom! Can't wait till Omaha catches up!

Hanging out with the buffalo at Lone Elk Park, one of our favorite places in the Lou!
OMG!!  How we missed you! Tried a new flavor this time... Muny Mocha!!  Yum!!

The St. Louis Zoo!!  Look at how cute that baby elephant is!!
And can't forget about these guys below:
Seriously how cute are penguins!!

We hit all of our favorite places and spent a lot of time with our family.  It was wonderful!  Just the perfect amount of time away to make us ready for the last 8 weeks of school.  40 school days till summer vacation... not that I'm counting.  :)

Eat, Drink and Be Irish

Happy St. Patty's Day to all my Irish friends and to those of you that are only Irish for the day.  I have my Irish Stew cooking, Flogging Molly and a few other Irish bands playing in the background, and in a few hours will be baking my soda bread. Yum!! We are not fans of Guinness so a little bit of Irish Whiskey and soda will be our drink for the evening.  We are relaxing at home tonight and healing our wounds from Mizzou's first round lost yesterday to Norfolk St.  {Yikes! March Madness, indeed!}  How are you celebrating the day?   Hope you celebrate safely and remember... If you are lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough!

Happy Monday!

Hope your week is off to a fantastic start.  I started a new organizational system today, thanks to Pinterest.  We have a big calendar on the wall in the kitchen that is our "bible", but nothing really upstairs in our office/computer area. So I found this system on Pinterest printed it out and started using it.  I like that it is portable, fits into a standard binder and fits nicely on our computer desk. Now there is no excuse for anyone of us to miss an appointment, or not be ready for a big test.  (Yes Danny and Emily, that is directed at you! :D)

Last week in review

I know this week is almost over and I am now just getting around to reviewing last week.  What can I say, old habits die hard.  :)  So here is what I loved last week:

Emily's surprise gift in the mail.  We are not sure who sent this to her or why, but she received a full size bottle of Pink cologne from Victoria Secret.  So cool!!

Our family Lenten project.  We seem to always fail at giving up items so I came up with an idea to add more compassion to our lives. Everyday, each one of us has write down how they showed compassion to someone during the day, no matter how big or small.  This picture was taken on Sunday, when I finally got all my supplies together. (Such a slow poke!) It seems to be going well.
