If you have stumbled upon my blog more than once, you probably know how much I love Pinterest. It has made me tune into many great DIY sites, and given me so many ideas on things to create that I need to add extra day to my week to start on some of these wonderful projects. I feel my scrapbooking may have to be put on the back burner for a little while. But since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I found some time today to create my first DIY project of the year. (And now have my first uploaded pin to a new board on Pinterest) Valentine Tie Wreath! I love it. I couldn't find a heart shaped grapevine wreath in my area so a wire one with sparkly pink garland had to do. Of course, I think it looks fabulous! What do you think?
Thanks for visiting!!

A Teachable Moment
I don't know about you but the first thing I learned about winter driving was to clean off both front and back windows so to see the road and those around you. We have taught our kids the same thing. Apparently this yahoo didn't get that lesson! This is one of my pet peeves!! I know, we didn't receive that much snow, about an inch, but still. How he can see? And he got on the highway like that! Thanks to my daughter for taking the photo for me and thanks to this person for the teachable moment.

Back to basics
It seems I have been really lazy since the new year started. I mean, I have only attended two Jazzercise classes for the year so far. So in an effort to get back in the swing of things, I have found this little poster on Pinterest to help get me back on track. This and going back to Jazzercise should help me on my road to fitness. What I love this week...DIY blogs
There are so many crafty people out there and I want to take a moment and thank them. Thank you so much for making your blogs and sharing all your wonderful, creative and fun DIY projects. You all inspire me beyond my scrapbooking adventures. For past three days now, I have been adding projects to my "Things I want to create" board on Pinterest. Here is one of them I want to share. I found this adorable wreath at She's {kinda}Crafty . Stacy has a great site! Please visit. Now I just have to find time to create one of my own.

Fun Tuesday Evening
I know no one likes to go to the dentist. But at 5 pm on a Tuesday? Not how you really want to spend a Tuesday evening, but you do what you have to do. At least it is a check up. I always dread these visits because, well, I don't remember to floss. So the week before my visit, and if I am really good - two weeks, the part of my brain that is supposed to remind me to floss goes into overdrive and I floss like no tomorrow. As if that is going to really fool my hygienist, she knows. She can tell, that's her job. She just smiles at me and reminds me I am not alone and always gives me an extra floss. Maybe it will help this time, after all tomorrow is another day. :)

Sorry Kindle
I don't try and hide it, I am a huge fan of the library and was so sad when our local branch closed for renovations. That meant I had to drive across town to another location that I wasn't all to familiar with. Granted it was a minor inconvenience but still was frustrating to me. Especially when I couldn't remember the name and had books sent to yet another location, even more foreign to me. {Sigh, still have those blond tendencies. :) } But alas, the long 6 month wait is over. Renovations are complete and I have my new and improved reading buddy back. To me, there is nothing better than curling up on the sofa or in your bed and opening a book to read. Just can't see me owning a Kindle. Anyway, if you are in the Omaha area, I urge you to check out the Abrahams Branch of the OPL. It looks fantastic! To celebrate I checked out 3 books. Happy reading!!

That's A Lot Of Numbers...
Tonight was a financial aid planning meeting for our son Danny. Hard to believe he will be going to college next fall! There is so much to take in and it's a little overwhelming. On our to do list is filing our taxes early, hopefully by the end of the month, and then getting FAFSA completed to see what financial offers will be made. Here is his list where he was accepted: Nebraska, Mizzou, Iowa State and the University of Nebraska - Omaha. Nebraska makes sense since we live here, hello in-state tuition. But I think he is kinda hoping for a huge offer from Mizzou. Me too! Where is the money fairy when you need her?

The Pseudo Veggie for Dinner
It's day two back with the preschoolers and I am beat, so take out was our option. What is healthy take out... pizza. Wait, pizza is healthy right? Didn't the FDA try to label pizza a vegetable because of the amount of tomato paste in the sauce? BIG stretch? Nah, in fact the school district I work in claims jello is a fruit because it's made with apple juice. So if they can claim that with a straight face, I claim just for today, that pizza is a vegetable. But what to do about the crazy bread...? Happy eating!

Hitting the road
Okay, so I know I posted that patience is something that I hope to have more of in 2012, but with her behind the wheel, I have my work cut out for me! Why is it so hard to teach your children how to drive?

Welcome 2012...!
A new year... always makes me feel hopeful and at peace. Even though I get a little bit melancholy when I put away the Christmas decorations, those feeling don't last long because they are replaced by my feelings of renewal. I know that there is a world of opportunities waiting and 365 days to see to them. It's a clean slate, waiting for my mark. I am hopeful that in this new year I can/will:
Oh yeah... here is that creating more in work. Almost finished with my son's football album.
What looks like a mess on the floor is my creative genius at work. :)
- be more forgiving
- have more patience
- find tranquil moments in busy days
- give more of my time to those that need it
- pay it forward
- create more
- continue to cherish my family and not take them for granted
Oh yeah... here is that creating more in work. Almost finished with my son's football album.
What looks like a mess on the floor is my creative genius at work. :)
